Government Asks Cort To Compel Tambuwal To Remove Defected APC Lawmakers

The Federal Government has asked an Abuja Federal High Court to pressure the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, to sack the lawmakers who had defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Aminu Tambuwal On March 31, the Federal High Court in Abuja  ordered  37 former members of the PDP to resign their seats at the House for defecting to the APC. Justice Adeniyi Ademola held that the defected lawmakers no longer had any business, morally and legally, to stay in the House. The defected lawmakers filed an appeal against the judgment,  saying it was unconstitutional .  Despite the appeal, however, the FG insists that Tambuwal should be restrained from allowing the decampees to participate in the activities of the House.
