PHOTOS: Nicki Minaj Poses In A Leather Jacket With Nothing Underneath

Image
She is usually seen looking like something out of a cartoon, with an array of garish wigs, bubblegum pink lips and crazy and colourful outfits. But Nicki Minaj has had a dramatic makeunder for a new photo shoot – and the results are rather surprising. The singer unveils her natural beauty with minimal make-up, and cuts a very sexy figure in a series of racy outfits.

He Started ICAN In SS3, Now Bags First Class At 20

Caleb University, Imota, Lagos, best graduating student, Abdul-Azeez Adeniji, has an unusual academic history even at his relatively young age. If you ask a school child what he or she wants to become in future at three different occasions, you are likely to get three different answers. This is because the professional aspiration of many children is ever changing. But  somehow, this is not the case with  Abdul-Azeez Adeniji, the 20-year-old, who emerged the best graduating student at the second convocation of Caleb University, Imota, Lagos State, on Saturday. He had wanted to become a chartered accountant as a secondary school boy. Adeniji shifted his ambition to law after he obtained six distinctions and three Bs at the 2008 West African Senior School Certificate Examination.  Though he scored 269 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination in 2008, his post-UTME score of 60 was not enough for him to secure admission to the University of Benin. He was later off

To Justify Alamieyeseigha's Pardon, Jonathan Lists People Already Pardoned In 1999

Image
In what appears a desperate and hurried move by President Goodluck Jonathan to justify the pardon of his former boss and ex-convict, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, the president introduced names of other Nigerians who had been pardoned by previous governments. When the Nigeria Council of State met on Tuesday, the president read out a list of some convicted Nigerians whom he would want pardoned. Sources at the meeting said top on the list read by the president was Mr. Alamieyeseigha, and that "it was clear to all of us that he [Mr. Alamieyeseigha] was the target of the pardon." Evidence has now shown that at least three other names pardoned by Mr. Jonathan and the Council had been pardoned by an earlier government. Among those pardoned by the president are three former Army officers accused of coup plotting: Oladipo Diya, a former Chief of General Staff; Major-General Abdulkareem Adisa; and Major Fadipe. The three men had been pardoned earlier by the Abdusalam Abubakar

I Insist, Jonathan Signed For One Tenure – Gov Aliyu

Image
Governor Babangida Aliyu of Niger State has insisted that President Goodluck Jonathan signed a single term pact with some governors of the Northern part of the country ahead of the 2011 presidential election. Speaking at the Minna National Discourse on Corruption, jointly organised by Niger State government and the National Planning Commission in Minna, yesterday, the governor said what he said was correct and that he could not change what was the truth. “If to be truthful is to be literate, I stand by what I said. I am happy with what some people have said about the PDP.  I see them as somebody holding something and you are telling him hold it better or it will fall down. “So we should look at the on-going problems as issues we must confront, issues that we must correct and that agreement made in secret both at the same  fora is same as the one made in public,” the governor remarked. He said he still remained a committed member of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) an

PHOTO: TuFace Idibia Accepts Governor Akpabio's SUV

Image
The controversy over music star Innocent "2face" Idibia acceptance of a controversial Toyota Prado SUV gift from the profligate governor of Akwa Ibom state, Godswill Akpabio, is finally over. The Akwa Ibom state government released a photo today showing Mr. Idibia looking on as the commissioner for Information, Aniekan Umanah presented the car keys to Annie Macauley–Idibia in the presence of her husband and a friend, Jackson Udom. A source within the Akwa Ibom State Government said Mr. Akpabio had to hurriedly deliver the car to avoid the humiliation that might come from the musician rejecting the gift. "The governor didn't want to allow time and space for critics to convince the musician to reject the gift," the source said. "He believes that might dent his image." Source:  Sahara Reporters

Jonathan Asks Senate To Confirm Fola Akinkuotu As New DG, NCAA

Barely two days after he unceremoniously disengaged Dr. Harold Demuren as Director General of Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA, President Goodluck Jonathan has sent a letter to the Senate requesting it to confirm his nomination of Captain Fola C. Akinkuotu as new head of the agency. The President also sent a “Bill for an Act to establish the Nigeria Police Academy (Establishment, etc) Bill, 2013” to the Senate for consideration. The development came just as the Senate confirmed the nomination of Alhaji Suleiman Barau for re-appointment as deputy governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, as had been requested by the President. But it appeared the President had long appointed Demuren’s replacement before his action, as the letter to the Senate President was dated March 8, 2013. In the letter, President Jonathan requested the upper legislative chamber to confirm appointment of Fola Akinkuotu, saying his action followed the sack of Dr. Harold Demuren, in line with the p

Pope Francis Against Gay Marriage, Gay Adoption

Image
Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio, a 76-year-old Argentinean, was chosen as the first Latin American pope on Wednesday. He will lead the world's 1.2 billion Catholics as Pope Francis. While his selection may be historic, it may also mean more of the same when it comes to gay rights in the Catholic Church. Pope Francis is a conservative who is anti-gay marriage and anti-gay adoption. He has described same-sex marriage as the work of the devil and a "destructive attack on God's plan." He has also said that gay adoption is a form of discrimination against children. In 2010, Francis championed against a bill for same-sex marriage and gay adoption, according to the National Catholic Register. "The Argentine people will face a situation whose outcome can seriously harm the family," he wrote to the four monasteries in Argentina. "At stake is the identity and survival of the family: father, mother and children. At stake are the lives of many children wh

Presidency Denies Knowledge Of Boko Haram, Govs’ Talk

Image
The Presidency has denied knowledge of any ongoing dialogue between members of the Islamic sect, Boko Haram, and a delegation of the Northern State Governors’ Forum. It said as far President Goodluck Jonathan was concerned, members of the sect remained faceless since nobody had so far approached him on their behalf. Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Ahmed Gulak, said this in an interview with our correspondent in Abuja on Thursday. Gulak was responding to a statement credited to the sect in which its members took exception to Jonathan’s statement during his recent state visit to Yobe and Borno states that members of the sect were “ghosts” and so he could not grant them amnesty as recommended by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III. The sect, in a statement by Sheikh Muhammad Abdul’aziz, was reported to have said its members could not have been ghosts or a faceless association because they had been in dialogue and consultation with the Borno S

Pastor Chris Okotie Scammed!

Image
Scammers have cloned the Facebook account of Nigeria’s celebrity pastor and three-time presidential candidate, Rev. Chris Okotie, and are using it to extort money from the public, his spokesman warned in a statement on Thursday. Account cloning is when scammers copy a user’s Facebook profile picture onto a new account along with the user’s name and use the new account for various scams. Ladi Ayodeji, Director of Media and Communications Strategy at Household of God Church, Okotie’s church, disclosed that at least two of such accounts have been created. “In one of the accounts, they are sending mails to Rev Okotie’s supposed friends soliciting for donations for a purported kidney patient that Rev. Chris Okotie allegedly intends to send to a Saudi Arabian hospital for treatment,” Ayodeji said. The requests are false and do not emanate from Okotie, the spokesman said. “The reverend does normally not engage in public fund raising,” he said. He added: “In 26-year history of his
