Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr Umar Manko, Monday, warned students of tertiary institutions in the state to abstain from cultism, threatening that the command would not tolerate any unrest caused by cult members. This was just as he disclosed that the enforcement of the restriction on motorcycles as stipulated in the new Lagos State Traffic Law, was still witnessing hiccup, mainly from uniform men comprising both the Police and Military. He advised students of the Lagos State University Ojo, where three persons have so far been reportedly killed in a cult war, to go about their legal activities, assuring them of police protection. The CP who gave the warning while briefing newsmen on the command’s arrest of  three members of a robbery gang who attempted to rob a bank in Ajao estate and another gang which he said specialises in snatching vehicles from different parts of the country, restated the command’s resolve to face cultism. Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum, who is also the Governor of Rivers State, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, was among six governors that were not at the Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum meeting, which was held in Abuja on Monday night. Also absent were governors Sule Lamido (Jigawa); Dr. Babangida Aliyu (Niger); Seidu Dakingari (Kebbi); Aliyu Wamako (Sokoto); Musa Kwakwanso(Kano) and Sulivan Chime). Eight other governors, who were not at the meeting, sent their deputies unlike the six absentee governors. Seven governors and an acting governor(Taraba State), were also in attendance. Justice Samuel Candide-Johnson of a Lagos High court, will today, begin hearing on an interlocutory application praying him to restrain the Lagos State government from interfering with the Believers Love World (Christ Embassy), landed property situated at Oyeleke Street, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos. In the substantive case before the court, the church had been contesting ownership of the parcel of land with the Executors of the estate of Chief R.A Randle, which is also laying claim to the ownership of the property. The executors of the estate of Chief Randle are claiming that the area occupied by the church is part of the estate of the deceased, but the church is claiming the ownership of the land, which according to it was acquired from Neimeth Pharmacy with registered titles.
