Facebook To Buy Whatsapp?

Image
SOCIAL NETWORK Facebook reportedly is looking to improve its mobile services by buying multi-platform messaging application Whatsapp.  That's according to Techcrunch, which has heard from 'sources close to the matter' that  Zuckerberg's company is in talks with Whatsapp about a potential acquisition.  There are not yet any details on how much Facebook is looking to spend, and the firm has yet to respond to our request for comment. Such a move would make sense for Facebook as it looks to expand its mobile services. Whatsapp, founded in 2009, announced in October 2011 that its 100 million daily active users were sending and receiving 1 billion messages per day - users that Facebook will want to turn onto its social network.  These users are spread across multiple mobile platforms, including Android, Blackberry, IOS, Symbian and Windows Phone. "Just how much is 1 billion messages? That is 41,666,667 messages an hour, 694,444 messages a minute, and 11,574 messages

Goodluck Gets Set For 2015 As Posters Flood Abuja

Image
Giant campaign posters, announcing President Goodluck Jonathan’s readiness to contest the 2015 presidential election, greeted Nigerians in Abuja, the nation’s capital, as they woke up to savor the dawn of the New Year. The all-glossy posters, which were strategically posted in the high brow areas of the Federal Capital Territory, did not however indicate the source or the sponsor of the advertisement. The launch of the campaign materials contradicts the President’s claim that he has not yet decided on the 2015 poll but concentrating effort on transforming Nigeria in line with his manifesto to give the people a ‘fresh air’. It was not clear why the sponsors of the message decided to put it out on the first day of the new year but a source familiar with the message pointed out that it was to send a strong message to the opposition that Jonathan was serious about contesting in 2015 and to test the reactions of the Nigerians. The campaign posters have been spread across the

How Psqaure Blocked May D From Performing At Calabar Carnival

Image
Just when we thought there would be a reunion on stage between MayD and Psquare,it is clear that won`t be happening anytime soon. MayD was billed to perform alongside Psquare and Akon at the Calabar festival. His name was on the list. And true to their words, MayD arrived at Calabar airport on the same flight with Psquare. We smelt trouble when he looked alone and didn't walk with them. They rode in separate cars and he was lodged in a separate hotel from them. So, the show started and we saw J martins had replaced Mayd and people were asking questions about his whereabouts. When we sought to find out why Mayd would come all the way to Calabar and not perform, our first source said "He wasnt paid his balance and decided to pull out". So, one of Akon's people asked where MayD was and was told the same thing"In his words, that's not good mennn..sometimes, it really isn't about the money you know. Akon loves that dude mennnn" However, another reliable

Premier League: January transfer window - who needs what

Image
Whether they are pushing for the title, challenging for a Champions League spot or battling to stay up, the January transfer window gives Premier League clubs the chance to strengthen their squads. Familiar faces such as Nicolas Anelka, Robbie Keane and Thierry Henry could all be returning to these shores, while other transfer targets include La Liga stars Radamel Falcao, Fernando Llorente and David Villa and existing Premier League players Darren Bent and Marouane Fellaini. Here we  look at each top-flight side and examines who they need to sign or whether they need to put down the shutters to ward off bids for their best players. Arsenal What they need in a nutshell:  More characters as much as more quality. Window shopping:  A goalkeeper - Liverpool's Pepe Reina would be ideal because he needs a new challenge - and, without doubt, another striker. Not just Thierry Henry, either. Henry would be great at coaching their forwards but, if he comes back again and pl

First Picture Of Ailing Taraba Governor, Danbaba Suntai,Since he was admitted in a German hospital

Image
Danbaba Suntai pictured for the first time since he was admitted in a German hospital.  Ailing Governor of Taraba state, Danbaba Suntai, hospitalised in Germany for spinal cord related injuries, has been pictured with his wife and twin babies delivered a fortnight ago.  A picture obtained exclusively by PREMIUM TIMES from close family members shows the governors dressed in suits carrying one of the babies while his wife, Hauwa, lapped the other.  Hauwa was delivered of the twin babies on December 13 in a German hospital while minding her sick husband.  The picture shows the governor, who reports say has undergone spinal cord surgeries, sitting on a spinal base orthopaedic chair in a restaurant setting.  The governor appears to be looking into the camera, but seems ill and not yet in full control of his body as his shoulders were sunken in his suits.  The governor had a crash in his own private jet, a Cessna 208, that had five other passengers on board, in October 2012 while approachi

Investigation: Vice President Sambo Chose Deputy Governor Few Hours After Yakowa Died In Plane Crash

Image
Something fishy is definitely going on in Kaduna State if this is true: A credible Aso Rock source said: “The whole was done here; they called the man from here and told him their demands. While all the noise of the battling for deputy governor was going on in Kaduna, the search has already been concluded and that is why the President (Jonathan) refused to dabble into the matter, knowing that Sambo has chosen deputy governor few hours after the crash.” Sahara Reporters can authoritatively report that despite his denial, Vice President Namadi Sambo is the man that chose Ambassador Nuhu Audu Bajoga as the Deputy Governor of Kaduna State few hours after it was confirmed that Governor Patrick Yakowa died in the plane crash that occurred in Bayelsa State on 15th December, 2012. The confirmation gotten from a credible source in Aso Rock, the seat of Nigerian Presidency in Abuja clearly proved that the choice of Ambassador Bajoga is not choice of new Kaduna State Governor, M

Jonathan Speaks: I'm Now Ready To Work Fast

Image
President Goodluck Jonathan said he would move faster in 2013 to develop Nigeria: “In all our key sectors of the economy, we have laid solid foundations and now we are moving ahead. We will move very fast to make sure that what Nigerians expect from us as a government, we will do. “We are working very hard and I am convinced that 2013 will be a better year for this country.” The President said during a New Year service at the All Saints’ Anglican Church, Zone 5, Wuse, Abuja, promising that Nigerians would see more speed from him this year. Recalled that the President, during a Christmas Service in Abuja last week, had admitted that his administration was slow in taking decisions on national issues. He said it's because he wanted to avoid making mistakes. He said experience had shown him that when rushing to take decisions, government might make serious mistakes which would be difficult to correct. The statement drew criticisms from opposition political parties and human rig

Prophecies For Individuals In 2013 – T.B. Joshua‏

Image
Prophet T.B. Joshua kicked off the new year 2013 with a host of prophetic revelations for individuals around the world. His message was quite compelling and different from what we have been hearing recently. It is indeed a prophecy with a difference and caused us to stop and ponder his words: “Let me give you six out of many. The prophecies for nations, continents and for those at the helm of affairs shall be announced during the next Sunday Service. 1.  A year of surprises – I am seeing many great, famous, popular and rich men and politicians will become helpless and in need of help in matters of sickness, disease, finances, death, etc. One of the causes: They have failed to reward those who helped them to succeed. This is the year of judgment, especially for politicians who use youth to support their political ambitions without reward after winning power. Tell your neighbour: Reward those who help you succeed now. 2.  Those in the foodstuff business will have a field da
