Time magazine has  named U.S. President Barack Obama its "Person of the Year."   The magazine says president Obama's historic re-election was symbolic of the country's changing demographics. It also called him the "symbol and in some ways the architect of this new America."   This is the president's second time receiving the accolade; Obama, a Democrat and the first African-American U.S. president, was selected for the honor in 2008, after winning his first presidential election.   Time awarded a runner-up spot to Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai. The teenager was shot in the head by Taliban militants earlier this year for standing up for girls' education. She survived the October attack.   Other finalists included Apple CEO Tim Cook, Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi and Italian scientist Fabiola Giannati.

By keeping everyone's support and trust in mind, Park said she "will definitely open an era of peoples' happiness in which everyone can enjoy some simple pleasures and their dreams can come true." Park Geun-hye After being handed a bouquet of flowers, Park left the stage to the cheers of her supporters. She gave no formal victory speech. At a subdued Democratic United Party headquarters in another part of the capital, Moon Jae-in conceded. Apologizing

Watch More Local Stations not DStv For News, DG NOA tells Nigerians

The Director General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mike Omeri on Thursday said Nigerians must learn to pay attention to local news media for information that will enhance their lives. Speaking as a guest on Channels Television’s breakfast programme, Sunrise Daily, Mr Omeri queried Nigerians who complained that there are not aware of the activities of his agency. He said: “I have discovered something, like I said, I have travelled over 20, 000Km since I took office. I have met people who say they have not seen me even in their states but then when I ask them what do they watch? They watch CNN, they are always on DStv watching other programmes; they don’t watch local stations.” Mr Omeri said because Nigerians are always watching programmes on Digital Satellite television (DStv), the NOA may have to broadcast its information through that channel. He however advised that “Nigerians must begin to look inward and look at their stations for news and things that intere

Seven British clubs will find out on Thursday who they will face in the Champions League and Europa League. Manchester United, Arsenal and Celtic are in the day's first draw, for the last 16 of the Champions League. Liverpool, Newcastle, Tottenham and Chelsea will discover their opponents in the last 32 of the Europa League - and the last 16, should they progress. The Champions League draw starts at 10:30 GMT, with the Europa League following at 13:00 GMT. Manchester United are in the group winners' pot for the Champions League draw in Nyon, Switzerland, but will not face Arsenal in the next round as clubs from the same country cannot be drawn together. Nine-time European champions Real Madrid are one of several potential opponents for United from the pot containing clubs that finished as runners-up. Celtic, who clinched a place in the knock-out phase with  a dramatic win over Spartak Moscow,  are also in the runners-up pot and could face United. The first leg
