Woman Sentenced To 5 Years Imprisonment For Throwing Baby Into A Dam

An Osogbo Senior Magistrates' Court on Wednesday sentenced a 30-year-old house wife, Yidiat Bakare, to five years imprisonment for throwing her baby into a dam.
The convict, who pleaded guilty to the offence, committed the crime on Jan. 10 at about 4 pm at Ifon-Osun in Orolu Local Government Area in Osun State.
According to the Prosecutor Joshua Oladoye, the convict has a misunderstanding with her husband Amodu Bakare over feeding allowance.

"The quarrel made the woman to take the three-months-old baby to a dam in the area where she threw the baby," Oladoye said.

The dispatch with which ordinary Nigerians rescued the motorist whose vehicle plunged into the Lagos lagoon from the Third Mainland Bridge on Saturday, January 26, 2013 proved once more that Nigerians are great people. Police Arrest Redeemers University Student Over Death Of Suspected Gay Banker

Homicide detectives of the Lagos State Criminal Investigations Department, Panti, Yaba, have arrested an undergraduate of the Redeemers University, Ogun State, in connection with the brutal murder of a suspected gay banker, Adindu Ohamara. According to sources, the banker was on April 9, found in a pool of his blood in his room, having been stabbed severally by the suspect. Six persons were thereafter arrested in connection with the crime by detectives from the Homicide Unit of the State Criminal Investigations Department ,SCID,in Panti, Lagos State.
