Faith And Football: the Catholic Champions League

If football is a religion for many of its fans, for some of those studying in the seminaries of Vatican City, religion is also football.
The Clericus Cup is an annual five-a-side tournament involving seminarians and priests in the Catholic Church’s equivalent of the Champions League.
The tournament is hotly contested with 16 teams and more than 70 different countries represented.
Organised into a series of league and play-off games, the Cup sees teams take on each other in highly competitive yet good-natured and brotherly games of football until one of them is eventually crowned champion.

The dispatch with which ordinary Nigerians rescued the motorist whose vehicle plunged into the Lagos lagoon from the Third Mainland Bridge on Saturday, January 26, 2013 proved once more that Nigerians are great people. Police Arrest Redeemers University Student Over Death Of Suspected Gay Banker

Homicide detectives of the Lagos State Criminal Investigations Department, Panti, Yaba, have arrested an undergraduate of the Redeemers University, Ogun State, in connection with the brutal murder of a suspected gay banker, Adindu Ohamara. According to sources, the banker was on April 9, found in a pool of his blood in his room, having been stabbed severally by the suspect. Six persons were thereafter arrested in connection with the crime by detectives from the Homicide Unit of the State Criminal Investigations Department ,SCID,in Panti, Lagos State. Some of the persons picked-up by the Police included, a sister of the deceased, Flora who regained her freedom on Wednesday.
