Galatasaray bid to sign Didier Drogba from Shanghai Shenhua
Galatasaray have made a formal bid to sign former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba from Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua.
The 34-year-old's management company confirmed the bid from the Turkish club, who also recently brought in Wesley Sneijder from Inter Milan.
Drogba is currently on Ivory Coast duty at the African Cup of Nations.
His former Chelsea team-mate Nicolas Anelka could also be leaving Shenhua after having a medical at Juventus.
Drogba left Chelsea last summer after eight years with the Premier League club, during which he helped them to win the Champions League last May.
He joined Shanghai Shenhua in June and scored eight goals in 11 appearances.
Drogba had initially sought to return to Europe with a loan move andChelsea had been in talks over a deal.
However, football world governing body Fifa blocked the move, saying it was against international transfer rules.
